Professor Diaz and the 8th grade SEED Store girls organized a Holiday Sweets Shoppe filled with ice cream, hot chocolate, and other treats. Students who earned at least 500 SEED Dollars throughout the week for displaying positive behavior in the academic day and evening programming were invited to indulge on the goodies. Happy Holidays!
SEED Supporters - Investor Solutions
SEED is so grateful for our community of partners who not only support us financially, but also create opportunities for our students. Today we showcase the generosity of Robert Gordon and Frank Armstrong of Investor Solutions, who have generously funded wonderful programs like our Robotics SPARK and others. In addition, they have also provided a creative venue for our students’ artistic abilities through their holiday card contest. Our students have submitted their designs to Investor Solutions, and the most creative card will be distributed to Investor Solutions clients—promoting SEED Miami and our talented young artist throughout the community.
The Many Adventures of the Lady Rattlers
Wherever they go, the ladies of the FAMU house know how to have a great time. Through the hard work and creativity of Ms. Georges and Ms. Stubbs, the ladies have had Spa Day, karaoke nights, and a number of other fun events.
SEED Miami's First Football Game
Earlier this week, SEED Miami's football team played in their first game against Bay Harbor. Our boys and girls gave it their all and showed off their brand new uniforms!
SEED Miami Dean's List Students Visit Galaxy Skateway
At SEED Miami, behavioral excellence does not go unrecognized! As a reward for their fantastic demonstration of SEED Core Values in the first quarter of the 2016-2017 school year, SEED Miami's Dean's List students were awarded with a visit to Galaxy Skateway, where they snacked on pizza, played arcade games, and glided swiftly on the roller skating rink.
2016 Fall Festival
As a surprise for SEED Miami students, SEED staff organized a Fall Festival with a variety of activities. Students had their faces painted, gave staff a "pie in the face," and participated in a hanging apple contest.
2016 SEED Miami Dream Ceremony
On October 28, the SEED Miami community gathered for a uniquely SEED tradition: the annual Dream Ceremony. We invite our 6th graders to publicly share their dreams for their own futures with their families, new classmates, and supporters. They also receive a SEED Miami pin from a SEED Miami staff member or supporter, serving to officially welcome them to community.
Our sixth-graders haven't been with us long, but they've already learned to dream big: our students shared their aspirations to become doctors, professional athletes, and above all, college graduates. The Dream Ceremony also gave them an opportunity to see their futures come to life in the form of Ayodele, SEED DC '12 and University of Pennsylvania '16. As the Dream Ceremony's keynote speaker, Ayodele encouraged SEED Miami's newest students to take advantage of all the opportunities SEED has to offer and to never lose sight of their goals.
